History - Foundation P&V
History
Ever since 1930, P&V insurance, cooperative insurer and pioneer of the social economy in Belgium, spends part of its profits to social work.
In 1997, P&V's social commitment was further strengthened by a series of actions designed to combat the marginalisation of young people.
The Foundation P&V was created in 2000 and now works independently from its patron, the P&V Group. Acknowledged as a foundation for public utility since 2006, it undertakes various projects both in Belgium and at a European level.
2021 - 2023
KEEP
The P&V Foundation participates in a consortium of 6 institutions coordinated by France Education International from 4 countries (France, Belgium, Poland and Greece) in the framework of an Erasmus+ project. The title of the two-year project is: "Key Engaging Educational Practices used by secondary school teachers to keep connected with their students following the COVID-19 pandemic", Project KEEP.
Connecting Youth
In our current society, separate groups (of youngsters) seem to live next to each other, for example according to educational level and track. While thess divides are not new, some believe they have sharpened in recent years. In order to try to overcome the divisions in our society, the Foundation P&V is launching a far-reaching operation: Connecting you(th). Overcoming divisions in society.
2020 - 2021
Linking Youth Up/Guiding Youth
The Coronavirus crisis has a significant impact on the daily lives of all of us, but children and young people in vulnerable contexts were disproportionately affected. With the "Linking Youth Up/Guiding Youth" projects, 1,300 socially vulnerable young people received a new laptop and were mentored and strengthened in their digital competences by 65 organisations across Belgium.
2016 - 2019
My Future, Our Society
The P&V Foundation launches a project that aims to counter political alienation and reconcile young people with civic engagement and politics in its broadest sense. This by showing that they can solve personal problems or realise dreams through collective action.
2012 - 2015
Early school leaving and youth unemployment
The Foundation P&V launches a major research/action program on early school leaving and youth unemployment. Young people, especially the least qualified, were the first victims of the unemployment that hit Europe and its big cities at the time.

My world in 2030
The Foundation P&V is consulting young people about their future as part of the project questions the fears, expectations, plans and visions of young Belgians aged 16 to 26. Their scenarios, entitled "How do I see my world in 2030?", inspired two artistic productions, one in Liège and the other in Limburg.
2008 - 2009
Citizenship – Interculturality - Dialogue
Alongside PEFONDES, the Foundation P&V took part in the Citizenship – Interculturality - Dialogue project, choosing for Belgium the theme of:French speakers, Dutch speakers: how to communicate with one another?

Second edition of Spot-On! The Music project is created.

Spot-on! The Music Project
In Belgium, the P&V Foundation started the project Spot-on! The Music Project which allows young people's associations to create musical projects.
2004 - 2007
Better Together? Young people for accessible youth work
In Belgium, the P&V Foundation launches the project Better together? Young people for accessible youth work with a new youth forum choosing projects that promote diversity in youth movements.

The second PEFONDES project
...dealt with the Fight against discrimination of non-native young people on the job market.
2001
PEFONDES led its first common project
... under the name Living together in a plural society. A youth forum of 25 young people from across Belgium is set up to select initiatives to promote the integration of young people with a migration background.
2000
The P&V Foundation is born
In order to give a European dimension to its actions, the P&V Foundation co-founded the body known as PEFONDES (European Network of the Foundations for Social Economy).
1997
Creation of Fund P&V
The P&V Fund against the social marginalisation of young people was created under the patronage of the King Baudouin Foundation. Its most notable action is without doubt the Young People's Parliament in 1998. The Council of Europe considered this project a model for citizenship.
1995
Campaign to raise awareness of the social marginalisation of young people
The Solidarsong non-profit organisation launched a campaign to raise awareness of the social marginalisation of young people. The proceeds from a concert went to 13 projects across Belgium.
